The Areu Collection, which represents the major composers and librettists of the late 19th century, contains 131 zarzuelas, miscellaneous music, plays, playbills, and personal papers. Of the zarzuelas, about 100 originated in Spain, and a small number from Cuba and Mexico. There are also several translations and arrangements of French, Italian and Viennese operettas. This is a memoir of the 10 month imprisonment leading to the execution of Maximilian I of Mexico. The original memoir was written in German by Samuel Basch, who served as Maximilian's personal doctor during this time. This volume is an incomplete Italian translation of the original, handwritten by an unknown source.

Significant global collection on pinhole photography. The bulk of this collection is the archive of Pinhole Resource Inc., the publisher of Pinhole Journal from 1983 to 2006. Pinhole Resource was based in New Mexico and led by Eric Renner and Nancy Spencer. Additional material collected for the exhibit "Poetics of Light" is also included alongside the Pinhole Resource material.
